COURSE NAME: Dinghy Training Level 1 Course
Duration: 16 hours, scheduled
Previous Experience: No previous experience required
Course Details: Hands on training with the majority of the time spent on the water. This course provides an introduction to sailing for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling knowledge and techniques.
Price: 700 LE (Gift certificates available on request)
Course cost includes boat use and admission to the Centre facilities and beach.
Classes are conducted in English or Arabic.
An examination must be passed after the course to determine the level of the student and whether they can apply for skipper membership.

COURSE NAME: Dinghy Training Level 2 Course
Duration: 16 hours, scheduled
Previous Experience: Completion of Dinghy Training Level 1 Course
Course Details: Like Level 1, this course is hands on training with the majority of the time spent on the water. By the end of this course, participants will be safety conscious and able to capsize and recover in a controlled manner. The course covers rigging to weather conditions, rope work, launching & recovery and more complicated maneuvers. Basic race procedures, starting and techniques are also covered.

Course cost includes boat use and admission to the Centre facilities and beach.
Classes are conducted in English or Arabic.
An examination must be passed after the course to determine the level of the student and whether they can apply for skipper membership.

COURSE NAME: Start Racing
Duration: 16 hours, scheduled
Previous Experience: Completion of Dinghy Training Level 2 Course
Course Details: A great way to build confidence to get involved with club racing. Like all our courses, training is mostly hands on with the majority of the time spent on the water. The course tackles areas from choosing the right boat and ownership considerations. Right through to race organisation, typical courses and start sequences. The course also covers race tactics and rig tuning.

David Megalli, lead instructor at DMSC received his Royal Yachting Association “Yachtmaster certification from Rock Sailing Gibraltar in 2011. RYA Yachtmaster Coastal and Offshore Certificates of Competence are recognised and respected around the world and are the ultimate aim of many skippers. A Yachtmaster is a yachtsman or woman competent to skipper a cruising yacht on any passage that can be completed without the use of astro navigation.
